Off to a flying start: Kairos Media X Rovio
We are super excited to announce our new partnership with the iconic creators of Angry Birds: Rovio. After a competitive pitch process, they have appointed us as their global influencer marketing and media agency of record.
Kairos is handling and delivering a global strategy aligned for the Angry Birds 10th Anniversary campaign, which marks a decade since the release of the first Angry Birds mobile game (yes, this made us feel old too).
To celebrate 10 years of Angry Birds, the campaign looks to turn anger into a positive force for good. All in the name of a good cause, as part of a continued partnership with UNICEF, Angry Birds has agreed to donate $100,000 to UNICEF’s Education in Emergencies fund if we can pull together as a global community to pop 10 billion pigs in Angry Birds 2.
To drive this force for good, Angry Birds has created ‘Rage Riders’ – the first ever custom engineered electric scooter powered by your anger. The louder you vent, the faster you go!
The Rage Riders will be put to the test by our ‘Squawk Squad – MyLifeAsEva (10.7M subscribers), Tanner Fox (9.36M subscribers) and Team Edge (6.5M subscribers) are just three members of a collective of huge YouTube talent, hand picked to lead the charge and #BringTheAnger.
We’re going live with around 50 influencers in what is sure to be an unforgettable activation and a huge investment from Rovio into the influencer space. Big shout out to our New York team who are on the ground, helping to oversee the smooth running of the campaign.
It’s exciting to see Rovio investing so heavily into influencer marketing – showing a definite shift in the industry, as companies modernise their media spend. With 65% of advertisers planning to increase their influencer spend next year (World Federation of Advertisers) and recent research showing that influencer ads are 277% more “emotionally intense” than TV ads (The Drum), the industry shows no signs of slowing down as media spend is shifted from traditional means into influencer marketing.
Ville Heijari, Chief Marketing Officer at Rovio said, “Kairos are deeply connected within the influencer space and have a track record of executing multi-channel campaigns at scale. What also impressed us was that many of their team are current or former digital content creators and therefore have first-hand experience of the craft. We’re excited to reveal more about this campaign in the coming weeks.”
After finding out that we won Rovio, we wanted to celebrate such a special partnership…
