Financial Planning & Analysis Manager - FIN

The Kairos Group houses our social creative agency: Kairos Media, our owned media agency, Kyma, whose content generates 150M+ views per month, Turopium, a full-service management agency specialising in taking a market leading approach to working with talent and now Horizon Union, who joined the Kairos Group in February 2022, a creator first and esports team business.

The Role

We are looking for a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, to lead the budgeting and forecasting process across a group of exciting and growing social and gaming media businesses. You will own the end-to-end FP&A process, integrating tightly with and supporting the wider finance function and leaders of the Kairos Group businesses. You will identify opportunities and risks, and clearly communicate business performance and drivers. Whilst Kairos Group growth has largely been organic to date, there is also increasing levels of M&A activity. There is scope to support the evaluation of target opportunities leaning on past experiences or by gaining exposure to corporate finance transactions. This is an exciting role with significant personal growth potential over the coming years, in line with the group's existing plans.

Responsibilities

Business planning / budgeting and forecasting

  • Owning the creation and consolidation of Kairos Group entity budgets and forecasts, working closely with, and supporting the group leaders and finance teams.
  • Maintenance of the group entity level and consolidated 3-statement forecast model, identifying growth, and working capital requirements.
  • Continuous budget and forecast calibration with business goals and strategies.
  • Identification of key business and performance indicators.
  • Management of the rolling monthly forecast process, in concert with the month-end reporting cycle.
  • Timely identification and communication of business risks, opportunities, and all other variances.
  • Group Financial Controller support with month-end reporting and ad-hoc interesting but technical accounting across entities to help maintain accuracy and compliance with accounting policies.
  • Development of systems and processes needed to support the continued growth of the group.

Analytics / project accounting

  • Develop multi-scenario tools to evaluate business opportunities, ranging from new service or product lines to acquihire/M&A opportunities and other business ideas.
  • Development of a Balanced Scorecard; creating and regularly reporting on KPI’s that underpin our business strategies across financial and non-financial measures.
  • Leaning on existing tools or by implementing new, develop project accounting frameworks to identify under or over performing service/product/customer relationships, which may require intervention or additional investment.
  • Identify areas where costs can be saved, synergies can be developed, or other efficiencies realised.

Reporting

  • Working with the Group Financial Controller and leadership of group businesses, deliver timely, quality, and informative month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting, from income, to balance sheet and cash flow statement forecasts which include consolidations and sub-consolidations.
  • Regular periodic reporting of a Balanced Scorecard.

Requirements

  • Proven FP&A experience, ideally in the media or tech industries, or a passion for.
  • Broad knowledge in a range of budgeting and planning techniques, from incremental, to activity-based and zero-based.
  • Advanced (demonstrable) Excel modelling skills. Excellent judgment and analytical skills.
  • Strategically minded, can connect the dots and see beyond the numbers.
  • Strong communicator, across teams, in financial and non-financial terms.
  • Driven to improve their own performance, their team’s performance, and the wider businesses.
  • CIMA / ACCA / ACA part or fully qualified.
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
  • Exposure to M&A desirable but not required.
