Celebrating one year of our People Director

Celebrations are in order as our wonderful people director, Nicola Hammond, celebrates her first anniversary at Kairos Group.

In the last year, Nicola has been spearheading a lot of the changes that have happened within Kairos’ people and culture division. From new learning opportunities to supporting new company benefits, Nicola has transformed the way Kairos approaches its people in the last year. 

This week, we get to celebrate her.

Even before her Kairos days, Nicola has been at the forefront of the DE&I sector and is known for her instrumental work across the industry. 

Most recently, Nicola was awarded People Leader of the Year at the InsideOut Awards in a lineup of other incredible industry leads. Within the same week, she was profiled by The Drum to speak about how she has tackled DE&I for a business like ours that doesn’t fit the industry norms.

It’s not easy to drive a culture change, but the changes Nicola has introduced to Kairos Group in a short time are now rooted within the business.

Some of these changes include regular training sessions with an external DE&I education provider InnerFit. To date, InnerFit has collaborated with us to deliver internal sessions with topics around mental health awareness, race, inclusive language and supporting LGBTQ+ staff.

Alongside our company-wide sessions with InnerFit, Nicola was also instrumental in introducing our Kairos XP programme in partnership with Jo at MDM Talent Management. Nodding to our gaming heritage, Kairos XP is a tailored programme for the women in our senior leadership roles, giving them advice and support to excel as strong leaders throughout the business. Covering the various challenges that women in leadership roles face, the KairosXP programme was crafted to create a space for senior women where they felt encouraged, empowered and ready to succeed.

Our recent updates to our core working hours and the introduction of flexi-hours for EMEA staff are other benefits that Nicola introduced in collaboration with our leadership and people teams.

We’re incredibly grateful to have Nicola with us as a great driver of change and a colleague that is loved by many. Happy first anniversary to you!
